i'm jon kelley. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. we begin with breaking news overnight. 94 people including two children and a pregnant woman are dead after a ship caught fire and capsized at sea. we're getting this new video in. hundreds of people were thrown into the water off the coast of the sicilian island. the ship was carrying african immigrants toward italy when those on board set off flares, the ship caught fire and capsized. about 500 people believed on board that ship. the coast guard says the ships and helicopters have been sent and local fishing boats on the scene trying to search the water for survivors. this is the second deadly migrant ship wreck this week off the coast of italy. on monday 13 men drowned when their ship ran aground trying to reach southern sicily. >> a rescue operation going on right now around the world for five american kayakers who had some sort of emergency out on the waters. two of the five are brothervés all of them from colorado. but their guide is also an american and from san francisco. we g

"today in the bay's" christie smith live at the hospital. she has more details on the man the police are looking for. good morning. >>> good morning, jon. another strange twist in this case that's already very unusual. investigators think that the man who reported seeing a woman laying in a stairwell here at sf general may have had on a u.c.s.f. name tag. they don't know a whole lot else about him. 57-year-old lynn spaulding was found in a locked stairwell at s.f. general hospital here in san francisco on october 8th, three weeks after she banished from her room. she was here being treated for a bladder infection at the time. now, four days before she was discovered, a man told a hospital supervisor that he saw a woman in a stairwell. apparently, that supervisor looked but did not see anything. t

i'm jon kelley. >>> i'm marla tallez in for laura garcia cannon. are learning more about who gets what in the deal that ended the b.a.r.t. strike. in months of a bitter back and forth between the transit agency and its employee unions, business and tech reporter, scott mcgrew joins us in our newsroom with more details. >>> it turns out b.a.r.t.'s best and final offer made a few days ago got better after the workers went back out on strike. the final figures according to newspaper reports include a nearly 15.5% raise over four years. the mercury news says some of the money the workers will have to pay back towards benefits, not much. about 4%. the first time b.a.r.t. workers have had to pay into their own pensions. the workers health care costs will rise about $30má' to $129 month. now, one big concession from the union was on sick leave. b.a.r.t. workers had in some cases gotten overtime without working a full week's work. say you are sick on monday and you work tuesday through friday. if you came in on saturday, you got overtime even though you h
