hello, i'm jon scott.everybody, i'm jenna lee, and the numbers are certainly out, and they came in lower than expected. the labor department says employers added just 113,000 jobs in january. that's far below the monthly average of just under 200,000 that were created every month on average last year. the unemployment rate in the meantime is at 6.6%, the lowest since october 2008, but the reason for that might give investors and economists pause. ed henry is at the white house, our chief white house correspondent. ed, the white house always has something to say about these numbers every month, what's the message today? >> reporter: good to see you, jenna. what they're talking about this morning is when you look big picture, there's now been 47 straight months of positive private sector job growth. that equals 8.5 million new jobs over those 47 months. but as you say, month by month these are still coming in below expectations. the president's on road today in michigan trying to talk up rural economies. he'

jon, did you catch up with john chen today, the ceo of blackberry? >> as a matter of fact, i did, scottout. he had some news about handsets, the most important is one specifically designed for indonesia. that's a market where blackberry is still hot. low cost phone. they hope it does well there and regains them some market share. also talked about blackberry enterprise server. this has t got to be the anchor of the company going forward. it's supposed to manage not just blackberries but ios and android. they simplified their cost structure there and taken it down to make it cheaper and they're trying to make it easier for people to migrate off of competitors on to blackberry, trying to retain that enterprise base. we also talked about the controversy between blackberry and t-mobile. remember, t-mobile ceo john ledger trying to entice blackberry users to switch over to the iphone 5s. the users didn't like it. john chen didn't like it. listen to what he had to say. >> i normally don't use some of these words that i used in a blog but we are truly disappointed. let me put it this way. i'm
