. >> so the perception from here in washington has been that jon tester is one of the safer democratic incumbents who's running in trump country. that he's got probably a better than even shot of hanging on to his seat. what's the view like there? i'm sure you've covered many of his races. has the ground shifted enough under him in the age of trump that you think that he's at risk of having a different outcome this time? >> well, that's the question, of course. you know, mr. tester has won both of his races by fairly close margins. he, himself, has said, i know this is going to be a close race. he's not saying he's going to walk away with anything. he has outspent mr. rosendale by almost 4 to 1, 5 to 1. a lot of outside money, though, has perhaps evened it up a little bit. there's been about $14 million spent on behalf of mr. rosendale by outside groups, and about $8 million to $9 million spent on behalf of tester, as well. i think it's going to come down to another close contest. i don't think it's going to be that much different than the other ones. the fact is really who turns out.
