in our studio here in washington, two journalists, jonathan alan and cut -- peter ralston. congressman, thank you for being with us. i want to ask you for about the last few months when congressional black caucus members have been openly critical of obama, and especially focused on the lack of jobs in black communities. do you think you will have accomplished anything yet in terms of getting specific action from the it ministration? >> the main reason for the five- city stop and our jobs there is that we have been able to get jobs for some individuals who so desperately wanted those jobs. some of them stood in line from 4:30 a.m. until the late afternoon. in atlanta, we had over 5000 people turned out and 12 had to be taken to the hospital because there were overcome by heat. we do think that the administration saw what we saw, but more significantly, the entire nation saw the pair are people who are in excruciating -- entire nation saw that there are people who are in excruciating pain because of the job situation, and it might be healthy for them to get involved in helpin

michelle bernard, jonathan alan and fred yang.tural disasters, hurricanes, snowstorms, leadership is always a big issue. i want to highlight one thing, there was a pew poll out this week, presidential leadership, president obama able to get things done. now 44%, that's down 11% from may. >> yeah. >> how concerning is that for the white house? >> it is not insurmountable, but it is a big concern. if you look at the pew numbers in more detail, the only numbers that stayed about the same or didn't decrease significantly were do we like you, do we think you understand people like us, do we think you're a good communicator? the president has to definitely look at these numbers and understand that just because people like him, it doesn't mean they're going to re-elect him. the country is hurting, but then again, you know, the election is a far away off. the numbers are not insurmountable. >> we haven't mentioned the economy at all in this whole hour. how much is he able to get things done with the economy? >> i think a lot of it has to
