i'm jonathan capehart.y, with thousands of migrants crossing the u.s./mexico border every day, the biden administration is struggling to house unaccompanied children and families that officials say they don't want to turn away. there are currently more than 5,000 children in border patrol custody. on saturday, the administration announced it will open another 500-bed temporary facility for children in texas. for migrants of all ages at the border, the staggering numbers lay bare the scope of the problem. in one texas tent facility, more than 3,300 migrants were being held in a space meant for just 250 people. this morning, department of homeland security secretary alejandro mayorkas is making the rounds to explain president biden's plans to deal with the burgeoning humanitarian crisis. i had a chance to speak with secretary

i'm jonathan capehart. this is "the sunday show." >>> this sunday, millions of americans can breathe a sigh of relief because help is finally on the way. after debates and votes that lasted 25 hours and 20 minutes, the senate narrowly passed president biden's $1.9 trillion covid relief package. not a single republican voted for the legislation. now the bill goes back to the house for one final vote and will likely be on the president's desk before march 14th. when unemployment benefits lapse. the landmark legislation provides relief for working americans in the form of $1400 stimulus checks. $300 per week federal unemployment benefits through the summer. and $14 billion for vaccine distribution among other things. it's the first major victory for the administration and doesn't come a moment too soon as the world marks the one-year anniversary of the official declaration of the pandemic and more than $525,000 americans have succumbed to the virus. >> this bill would not only make it easy to cheat. it would e
