jonathan turley and friend of the program. charles cook joining us live as well from atlanta.rting. i always want to know the tea leaves. how the argument sounds. can you point me in either direction when you heard the challenges from those eight, yes, eight justices. i will not ask you to pontificate about what you think will happen but what it will sound like. >> reporter: it's dangerous to tell you but the eight justices seem deeply divided over whether the president has the authority to create an executive order that shields millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation and gives them work authorization and benefits. the conservative justices seemed to think that was a job for congress and that this was executive overreach and in fact, at one point, justice candy said this seems upside down and seemed concerned with the language saying that this would give them lawful presence. they said, how can they be given lawful presence if they're in violation of the law? the administration said this will just be a tolerated presence while we focus on the highest priority targ

we'll talk about what's going on and bring in jonathan turley at george washington university. and also, joining us, is congressman dan kildee who's representing flint, michigan. let me get your reaction from him. what do you think? >> i think it's a step in the right direction. it's a step towards justice for the people of flint to hold individuals accountable. i hope they continue the investigation and go up to the level of the folks who made the decisions to move in this direction and i hope that justice comes in another form. that it comes in the form of actually making it right for the people of flint. it's one thing to charge individuals and hold them individually accountable but the state of michigan needs to make sure they correct the mistakes these people made and make it right for the people of flint. >> let me ask jonathan turley from washington university. how serious are these charges? you read the document. how serious are they, jonathan? >> they're serious in the sense they can put these individuals away for five years or so. but this is not an easy criminal case
