superior court judge ursula jones dixon says she is ready to hit the ground running and build the office back up after the recall of pamela price. our velena jones sat down with the new interim da for a one on one discussion about her plans. the da's job is to be the top law enforcement officer in the county, which means that we have to look at public safety and victims first. everything else flows from that. as judge ursula jones dixon transitions from 11 years on the bench to day one as alameda county's top prosecutor, she says she's focused on three major priorities building up the victim witness program, boosting morale of the office, and training and recruitment. because many prosecutors left during the last administration, jones dixon says many of those former prosecutors are ready to come back. we lost a lot of institutional knowledge to other offices under the last administration, and she i'm sure she made hired great people. i don't know them as of yet, but i know the experience is not the same. jones dixon spent 15 years as a prosecutor before being appointed to the alameda cou
