housing justice slate of courtney brown for seat four, christopher meika for seat one, and jordan davis for seat nine. i have so many great things to say about christopher and jordan. i really respect these individuals so much, and have seen them do so much work on the d.s. a. housing and homelessness committees. but i want to focus most of my time talking on courtney brown, who is a former co-worker of mine at the tenderloin housing clinic, and someone who helps connect me to the san francisco suicide prevention hotline that i now work on. courtney has soft-pedalled some of her accomplishments. she really, like, wrote the training manual that we use at the suicide prevention hotline. she was a tremendously important advocate for folks on the margins of society who are experiencing suicidal ideation. oftentimes these feelings are related to, you know, their housing and things that feel outside of people's control. i don't think that there is maybe anyone in the city who is better positioned to really hear and understand the really intense problems that people in the marginal society are

good afternoon, jordan davis. i'm a member of senior disability and with the homeless working at -- homelessness working group. i live in an s.r.o. i am one of the younger people living in my s.r.o. there are a lot of elders in my building, and we deal with paying over half of our income towards rent for an old -- older building with a community kitchen and few units with private bathrooms where the elevator is hello unreliable. need to fix it, like yesterday. you need to build more deeply affordable housing in the city, and that includes senior housing , and we need to build it now, not only that we need to acquire and preserve it, we also need to make sure that seniors and people with disabilities aren't paying more than 30% of their income towards rent, and we need to put funding towards that, for identification purposes also, i occupy a tendency on the single room occupancy task force, and while we should do all we can for elder tenants in s.r.o.s, even i think this housing stock should not be the only option

my name is jordan davis, speaking for myself. for identification purposes only , i serve as one of the tenant reps on the single tenant occupancy time force. i support the ask, and of course, which is providing rental subsidy, supported individuals at risk of losing their housing, increase trans and gender nonconforming inclusion and safety, and establishing dedicated housing programs. let me tell you about my personal story. i came here late 2014, homeless. i almost lost an eye on the street due to trans folks basically punched me at 3:00 a.m. i got into the first navigation center and it wasn't all roses because i had to deal with sexual harassment from a fellow bangui, and of course, i got into a t.h.c. building, but there was a lot of problems, too , and this really goes to a lot of what i talk about. first i had to deal with someone who posted no fat gets or chinese on their door, and it was very freaking jarring, and there is no cultural competency among the staffers. another thing i've had to deal with is common restrooms
