reporter: 350 undergraduate students will be graduating from dominican university on saturday and jordan frahm should have been one of them. instead, the university will grant his diploma to his parents. now his mother says she has been crying nonstop for the last several weeks. tonight she is finally ready to talk about her son, about his passion, and about her pride. >> i do know he loved it. he loved everything about it. it made him feel alive. he loved being part of a team. >> reporter: she never thought her son would lose his life doing the one thing he loved most. but 25-year-old jordan frahm died with four other teammates when a massive wave hit their sailboat low-speed chase nearly four weeks ago. >> yes, it's cruel. he should've had another 50, 60 years, but i do take comfort in i saw him the day before and he had a big smile on his face and he was so happy. >> reporter: frahm had been sailing since he was 2 years old and was just on the cusp of turning his lifelong passion for the sport into a career. he was set to graduate from dominican university with a business degree. a degree h
