this has been a violent year in san jose. in the recent killing, police arrested the woman in san jose accused of attacking two women around 11:00 last night with a machete weapon in the willow glenn neighborhood of san jose. one of the victims died at the scene and a 40-year-old woman was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. police have not released information on the relationship between the suspect and the two victims. this is san jose's 39th homicide of the year compared to 20 last year and the highest number since 1997. a stunning haul of more than a million dollars did of watches and diamonds has been found in san diego. some were taken in this smash and grab robbery at the valley fair mall in october. gunmen who used sledgehammers to break into cases in stores stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. police displayed the merchandise from four california jewelry stores. back in november, police arrested ryan mcknight and robert shavira but just found the merchandise recently. >> he's been in cuss for a couple m

i was asking for a live picture of san jose. nice and clear out there. eight miles of visibility in san jose. livermore dropping off a little bit. you can see for seven miles or better from san francisco through oakland, still looking good. about five miles of visibility in oakland. the only place below one mile is napa. looking all right so far. i think a little more fog will develop through the next couple hours. overall, high pressure has regained control of our weather pattern. that's going to keep all that fog for the most part off the coastline pushing it back out to sea. you can see the clockwise rotation. the storm track way to our north. that's where it will stay through the weekend. as high pressure picks up today, it will be at its max strength by about 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. that's going to push all that cloud cover back out to sea. we'll see a building breeze, much warmer conditions, a clear coastline. if you want to hit the beach today, you can definitely do so, especially in santa cruz where i'm forecasting about 67 degrees. the mostly

we have developing news in san jose. a three alarm fire has caused major damage to a senior housing center. lisa washington joins us from the site of that fire. lisa, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, frank and grace. i talked to a fire capten who says it is believed that the fire starts at 1:45 this morning. it is a senior assisted living fam. may fair golden manor. and four people, as you said, have been taken to local hospitals. it is not believed that those injuries are very serious. the captain says this was a huge fire. when the firefighters arrived, they could see flames shooting from the roof of the building. now, in all, four units were damaged. and 16 people lived in those apartments. and the red cross will now assist them with finding a place to live. also, several streets in the area were blocked as a result of that fire. and are still blocked. parts of mckey road and alexander. this fire actually is off of mckey but it is near capital and madden here in san jose. again, as we said, this was a h

oakland, 60 degrees. 58 in redwood city, and 55 in san jose. so, it's another "spare the air" day tomorrow. so that means no wood-burning still through monday night. we're going to see coastal clouds overnight and possibly patchy valley fog tomorrow morning. looking dry and mild through the week. so doesn't look like there's much rain in store for us coming up. here's the "spare the air" alert. north bay, expecting poor air quality, as well as santa clara valley, and no wood-burping for -- wood-burning for all of us through monday evening. this area of low pressure kept everything pushing to the north, and we have had kind of a bit of a warm southerly air flow, and tomorrow we'll see temperatures come down a little bit. but overall, another nice one ahead. cloud cover moving in overnight with light rain getting to northern california, but not quite making it as far down as the bay area. in fact, tomorrow afternoon, we could have a possible chance of a sprinkle, but even the latest forecast model says just a light rain and sprinkles getting as f
