speak on highway 101 in san jose. this is, of course part of a series of nationwide demonstrations happening across the country over the death of george floyd who died in police custody in minneapolis. they march from san jose city hall starting around 2:00 this afternoon then they got on the freeway at east santa clara street and we have this group on the freeway blocking lanes of traffic on highway 101 in santa clara. they been blocking them for more than 30 minutes there. we want to talk now about the demonstrations that are happening in other parts of the country. obviously you saw the situation had that unfolded last night in minneapolis. those demonstrations turned violent and destructive last night. many parts of that city are now in ruins. minnesota's governor deployed the national guard. now there will be a curfew enforced in minneapolis. the governor called this week one of the states darkest chapters. we're joined now with the latest developments. >> at this hour we are seeing large and growing polar tests

101 in san jose. we have sky fox over san jose right now. alive images coming to you from downtown san jose. the protest started around 2:00 this afternoon and ended on the freeway and in the last hour, the protesters about 100 or so at least have made their way to downtown san jose. this is right in front of city hall. at one point the protesters were on highway 101, they were smashing windows on cars that were trapped. they have since left the freeway and now gathered at intersection in san jose. we have seen a heavy police previn presence on city streets and trying to make sure everything remains peaceful so far. we've been watching this going on for not our now. we want to show you a video from about an hour ago. watch this. >> along 101, crews blocking traffic and then this, protesters smashing out the window of one car. it is unclear what led to this in the first place. the protester on highway 101 have now gone to another street . we saw another protester trying to break the window of a car. were not sure what led to this another one

las vegas, san jose. later on in oakland. we are literally watching a nation in rage over what they've seen. not everybody is protesting. but thousands of people around the country are doing just that. one other point that i wanted to make is that in addition to the third degree murder, there was also a second degree manslaughter charge brought against derek chauvin, the officer involved in the george floyd death. i saw this and i would have to have an attorney verify it, but i believe that, if convicted, that the potential would be 25 years incarceration. so that's not a light sentence. i assume that they could also change the charges if the evidence warranted that and change it. but clearly, the way that the prosecution has brought this case, many feel that there's an undercharging going on here. we'll have to see how ha shakes out. it's obviously going to take time for all of this to get resolved. but in the meantime, we have inflammatory situations taking place literally. >> there's some pushing there. >> larry, just to b
