h the city of san jose is mourning the loss of one of their own, san jose police and san jose universityonfirms that former pd officer has died. they tell us packer was off-duty when he was found dead on his cash in his home. >> it is a difficult day in the police station. >> everyone is heartbroken for him, for pack, his family and for our football family here. he had a tremendous impact on everyone he met. reporter: he was a local kid who made it impact in his community. after successful football career in san jose city college, he came to the spartan program. his former head coach said he was a leader on and off the field. >> on the football field he was fantastic, he was a guy that walked on here from san jose city college earned a scholarship, was always on the 3.0 wall. he did everything right all the time. reporter: san jose states his life beyond football, packer took that to heart, and figure out what he was going to do after graduating. he joined the police department with the pandemic class of 2021. >> serving the community spoke to him which is not surprising, he was always v
