andre. the shooting happened in the san jose public library. during library hours. pretty scary kids were inside at the time to what happened at the hillview branch library on hopkins. dr you see it right here in your fisher middle school at redhill airport on the eastern side of the city. police received calls at two men chased another man inside that library at about 3 30 yesterday afternoon. the library was open to the public at the time, and there were about 20 people, including kids, and some workers inside. none of them were hurt. fortunately here, but investigators say one man was shot. and taken to the hospital where he's being treated for gunshot wound. he is expected to survive. police said the shooting was not random and believe they have a motive. the two individuals who were the suspects in this case were gang related. there was some sort of statements made, indicating that they were related to a gang locally here in san jose, never really see much of that going on here. um but even if it is getting related, it's still has firearms involved. i mean, the

national politics family of former san jose mayor and congressman norman eta, asking the public to say a final farewell to a man who dedicated his life to public service. andrejoins us now with a look back at his career and some of the details of today's ceremony. very touching ceremony will be happening today. norman had died at the age of 90 from a heart ailment last month. he was born and spent his early years in san jose. but when he was 10 years old, he and his family and thousands of other japanese americans were sent to internment camps after the bombing of pearl harbor. but the low point in us race relations did not change when that is sense of loyalty to the united states. and he wanted to work to make america better. he started by earning a degree from uc berkeley, which led to a career in politics, starting with a seat on the san jose city council in the 19 sixties. that led to his being elected mayor of san jose in 1971. for me, and i believe a lot of championships americans. it was a very proud moment. well he was the first japanese american mayor of any major american city that led to a higher national profile, and he ran for congress, where he
