yet, there was a bigger gap for the top man at the secret service, joseph clancy to be informed aboutearlier in the week when i was in that hearing is that clancy was saying he didn't know the answers to lots of questions. in part, he said because he immediately turned it over to the office of the inspector general for homeland security so that they would do a more thorough review. he explained that he was concerned that if he began to ask questions of personnel who were responsible at that time that that might affect the investigation. people might answer one way to their new boss as in clancy not being as at ease. they might answer differently if they were before the office of the inspector general. that raises some questions right off the bat itself. but he was not fully prepared with those answers. in the intervening couple of days he has a more prepared statement with some more details fleshed out where he will talk about the fact that there was no car crash, as had been sort of initially reported but then it sort of people filled in gaps, their minds it ran with it including mem

the director of the secret service joseph clancy delivered stunning testimony he did not learn of a drunken incident involving agents until day after it happened. this is the latest incident for a trouble agency responsible for protecting the president. matt keller has more on the growing outrage over the misconduct. >> clancy hasn't been the director for long not even six months but lawmakers were not easy on him because he is new on the job. >> he faced the music at a house of representatives appropriations committee. two special agents drove through a barricade during an active bomb investigation after attending a party and he was not notified for five difficulties. >> you are in charge. >> yes. >> this is a remember with administration. why did you not get word from your subordinates about the incident for five or six days? >> it will take time to change that of this culture. there is no excuse for this information not to come up with the chain. >> it is the latest to plague the secret service. last year a man with a knife came the fence at white house and was able to make it automatic
