steve: josh gerstein of politico. josh: there are two areas of executive power. is there anything from judge gorsuch's record that comes from a court that probably does not get as many national security related cases as the courts in the washington area do. anything from his record that gives us an indication of his views of the president's authority in the national security area? leonard: well, he obviously played in the national security space little bit, having been in the justice department during the war on terror. my perspective is he understands to some extent the delicate balance between giving the presidency a good deal of speed and dispatch and flexibility in crises involving national security, but he has seen the awesome power of the executive and of the state and a national security context. my sense is he is someone given his demeanor, given the way that he analyzes issues, he is someone who will understand this delicate balance and really try to thread that needle carefully. interestingly the one case focuses on having to do the issue of immigration

kimberly: all right, josh, see you then. next, a story to tell you about, an update on the fire at a lorton recycling facility. firefighters spent the day at the scene dousing hotspots today. the waste to energy facility fire broke out wednesday. everyone made it out safely. firefighters plan to remain at the site through sunday. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. charles county sheriff's deputies continue the search for the gun man involved in a deadly double shooting outside of a sports bar. a 26-year-old woman from lexington park was killed. anna-lysa gayle spoke with her mother, who once the shooter to turn himself in. morning. the liquor store and the club was taped off. ona-lysa: the sports bar crain highway reopened hours after the police took down the crime scene tape. that is where they found the woman just before 1:30 saturday morning, shot in the parking lot. she was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. her mother spoke to us over the phone. she said her daughter was at the sports bar to support
