josh, i guess you call this goliath versus goliath >> yeah. certainly.his is a war of words between two tech giants. it really comes down to a new feature that is part of the ios 14 operating system. it's called app tracking transparency it gives users the choice about whether apps can track them for ad purposes. and importantly, it's also limiting the sale of information from the apps to data brokers. some privacy advocates like this feature. they earn courage apple to implement it the feature has been delayed until next year. so that developers have time to update their systems apple defends the feature and xplandz w complains why it's important and takes a shot at facebook saying facebook executives have made clear their intent is to collect as much data as possible to develop and monetize detailed profiles of the users and disregard for user privacy continues to expand more of their products now facebook says this new feature is going to negatively ae affect the ad supported business model and responded with its own blistering letter. they said that

attorney general of pennsylvania, josh shapiro. mr. attorney general thanks for being with us. i want to talk in two roles and will ask you to wear two different hats, one as the attorney general, then as a senior democratic official in your state. first, as the attorney general the counting that's going on right now, can you give us an update? >> look, we said all along that we were going to secure and protect and count the vote. we accomplished the first two, the vote was secured and protected and now we're going through this laborious process of counting. folks ask me who does the counting? these are volunteers and clerks from our communities who are working around the clock right now to get all of this data inputted. i think as you saw from your previous segment about michigan, i'm certainly not an expert on michigan, but you correctly reported that numbers come in, vote totals go up and down and things change. i think you're going to expect to see more of that happen today in pennsylvania as the votes are

. >> we begin with josh in washington, d.c. we saw the video. we heard the shouting.ow did the rally turn violent? >> good morning. we could see as the tension was building between the thousands of trump supporters and election deniers who gathered at the various events throughout washington, as well as pro-biden protesters who were there to make known their view that the election was legitimate. and while it was mostly peaceful during the day, with police able to stand between those two opposing sides, we saw as day turned tonig night fall, is it started to get out of hand, andless ability for law enforcement to keep the two groups separate. according to authorities and according to our affiliate, nbc washington, there was 20 arrests. there was one person who was stabbed and transported to the hospital with some critical wounds. and part of what we saw in the events yesterday, was the fact that there are a lot of the trump supporters who wanted to exercise their second amendment rights, despite the fact there are strict gun laws in place here at the district of colom

josh, what is the president saying about this nationwide spike in coronavirus cases? >> reporter: well, this is the first time we had heard from the president in public in about a week, and the first time that he had really addressed coronavirus in any way since the results of the election. the president acknowledging for the first time recently that things are getting worse as far as the numbers, with hospitalizations going up, but the president trying to put an emphasis on what he sees as major advances under his administration, under this "operation warp speed" to move ahead as quickly as has happened with the vaccines. but the president getting a lot of flack for comments yesterday as he was speaking about coronavirus in which he seemed to threaten to withhold the vaccine from new york for political reasons. take a listen. >> as soon as april, the vaccine will be available to the entire general population, with the exception of places like new york state, where, for political reasons, the governor decided to say, and i don't think it's good politically -- i think
