josh einiger, abc seven news, jr. >> josh, you've been out near the fairgrounds all day. a couple of things here. what have you seen investigators doing as they search for evidence? and tonight, is there any idea on the timetable of how long they could be out there for. >> so the short answer to that second question is no. this could take a very, very long time. we're talking about a huge area that's currently locked down. and as for the first question we're going to zoom down there. you're looking down there. that's the building where the gunman, uh, was lying prone and where he attacked this rally and attack to the former president. and earlier this morning, we're talking probably ten, 12 hours ago, there was a fire truck up there with its ladder tower. ladder extended. and there were investigators we could clearly see on the roof, gathering evidence from the roof where the shooter had been. we have seen a helicopter flying low over the scene, a fixed wing airplane flying low over the scene. the fbi has brought in platoons of assistance. whether it's agents or crime sce

josh einiger abc seven. stephanie. >> yeah. josh a lot still developing at this hour. do you see this impacting the election, especially given the news biden is pausing his campaign ads. >> well, you know, i would say, first of all, stephanie, that's custom. nothing about this is customary, but it is customary to sort of hold your fire, no pun intended, when there's something that happens to the other side in a campaign like this. so that much is perhaps not unusual. but as we move into the republican national convention, which starts tomorrow in milwaukee, this of course, you know, provides the trump campaign with the visual of a of a candidate who jumped right up and started pumping his fist and saying, fight uh- and his supporters are certainly riled up after this attack on him yesterday. so it's certainly as we move into the rnc uh- going to be create some very dramatic moments in milwaukee this week. >> yeah, certainly time will tell. well, josh, thank you for your reporting out there. we'll check back with you during our 9:00 hour. now, a reminder we are continui
