josh knight as the first look at the forecast. josh: the most interesting part of this tonight is how quickly it is moving in and how suddenly the wind is going from breezy to extremely gusty. the big wave of low pressure continues over new england. 4s, severe thunderstorm warnings. sense likein the they are in the summer. there is not much lightning, but for us, on the leading edge of rain, with the orange boxes, that is where the wind is picking up. they are going from breezy to all of a sudden over 60 miles per hour. the wind gusts are very strong. 11:16, mount vernon about these winds will push to the east of the next couple hours. the warnings, right now, does not include d.c. yet, but i imagine that will be updated. otherwise, baltimore to annapolis with the warning right now. this is a precursor to the high wind warning that is officially tomorrow until six :00 -- 6:00 tomorrow. this lighter color is the wind advisory. the difference is just stronger wind where the darker color is. monday, this initial line of showers brings

let's talk about oakland terrace elementary school where abc7's meteorologist josh knight visited. talk to fourth graders in the elementary school as part of the lunchbox weather program. showed them a lot of stuff inside. like to do weather experiments that are all safe and the kids learn the physics of how weather works. that is fun to see. we showed behind-the-scenes video of how we do we here at abc7 and took them outside for quick recess break to check out the stormwatch7, the equivalent inside and the function that it has during the days we are out in big weather events. we had a question from daniel hernandez and see what he has to say. >> what is your favorite day as a meteorologist? doug: i thought about that. i knew what the question would be. the obvious sw storms but almost 40 years there are so many big storms i had to think of something really special. the most special day is the first day i was every on tv doing the weather. after whole life of being a hobby in 1978, channel 12 my first day on tv. i stood there with a weather map and thought i'm actually doing that!
