and several states have no minimum wage at all, joshua. and so what we're trying to do here is trying to get past, finally, an increase in the minimum wage that the voters want and demand right now. >> talk about what you think regarding the near total support for this bill in the house. there were two democrats who voted against it and criticized the non-covid-related spending and said in their view the wage hike could hurt small businesses. what do you make of that? >> well, i was a former small businessperson. i paid more than $15 an hour. and most responsible employers do that. in this particular case, the minimum wage goes up to $15 over four years. there's a long ramp, a long adjustment period. but in any case, much of the spending in this bill is vital for not only making sure we get healthy, because of this health care crisis, but also to repair the economic damage. there is obviously money in the form of stimulus checks. there's a vital extension of unemployment insurance that's going to expire for 11 million people on march 14th.

well, joshua, here's the thing.ity are not going to be nearly as sympathetic to the president or former president as the republican senators. >> what's your sense of what the department of justice might do in terms of possibly investigating the former president? obviously there is a huge concern about the appearance of political involvement with the d.o.j., which is exactly one of the things that president biden said he would positively not subject merit garland too as attorney general nor the fbi director christopher wray. >> so, trump does have federal criminal exposure for inciting the insurrection, allegedly or allegedly obstruction of justice in the mueller investigation, or shaking down the ukrainians for political favors. remember, the first impeachment, it's all up to the new attorney general who is likely to be merit garland. joshua, i think federal charges are unlikely for two reasons. first, the criminal standard for conviction is much higher than for impeachment. and prosecutors are not going to bring a
