you're on the "washington journal" with josh keating. >> caller: yes. joshua my concern has been ever since president obama spoke in cairo that he wanted to recognize weaken the role of the united states in the world and we saw that kind of in libya where he's taken a step back where initially he had tried to find a way to get gadhafi out within a few hours and may have avoided all of that. but i'm concerned that republicans are becoming more isolationists and i think we should be supporting democracy in the middle east and we should -- this war on terror i sort of view like the cold war. it's for half a century. the american will was so strong and we got to get back to that and i think we need a republican leader that will stand up and say, now our problems in yemen -- we're going to help fight terrorism in yemen. this is a global conflict just like the cold war. and we have to be in it for the long hall and we need a powerful republican leader that will say we're not going to cut our r & d in defense because we can never make that up. >> host: joe ann in san
