prosecutors say john stabbed joyce in the chest and then stabbed himself before setting their home on fire. the brothers hired their own private investigator to look into their parents' deaths last november. today, they alleged in a letter that the prosecutor jumped to a conclusion that their parents died from a murder/suicide then made the evidence fit the theory despite the possibility of a third knife. authorities also said joyce had blood on her hands but mark sheridan said there were no scratches on his father. now the brothers said in the letter, the singular focus of the investigation was to prove the murder/suicide hypothesis rather than determine what happened to our parents when facts were developed that called that hypothesis into question. they were ignored. the sheridan brothers say they plan to file a state lawsuit over the cause of death. the prosecutor's office said in a statement to nbc 10 in light of the repeated statements by members of the sheridan family that litigation is imminent. further comment would not be appropriate at this time. >> jacqueline, thank you. >

fox 29's jennifer joyce is live at philadelphia police headquarters with more on this. hi yen i. >> reporter: good morning. it looks like it was on the fringe of the streets. there were a hundred people at this party many sent running and ducking when shots were fired a 19 year-old was shot in the back and arm. twenty-three year-old man was shot in the arm as well. they are both in stable condition at temple hospital. police set the the scene for us. >> based on ballistics evidence we know at least three shots were fired from the semiautomatic large caliber weapon. we found shell casings in the 2200 block of park avenue. we have numerous witnesses, at least ten witnesses who stated that this shooting all started, from a fightin side a party, in a house in the 2200 block of park avenue there were at least 100 people inside this house. >> police say while they were on the scene they saw one man trying to hide a gun and run. they caught up with him, he put up a fight but they were able to take him into custody. it is unclear if the shots were fired from that weapon or not.

fox 29's jennifer joyce is live from lower providence township with more on this jennifer good morning>> reporter: good morning. park avenue is closed between jobe the road and eagleville road. we are told it will be several hearst before this stretch of the roadway will reopen after a head on collision between a tractor trailer and a tanker truck that burst into flames. the tractor trailer was carrying a powdery substance, used in cosmetics. it spilled all over the roadway. the tanker was hauling sewage. the driver of the tanker didn't make it. the tractor trailer driver is okayed. identities have in the been released. the the investigation into how this deadly crash happened is just beginning. >> we have to look at a number of things including, you know the truck, you know, whether there was mechanical issues with the truck, we have to look at speed. we have to analyze a number of different things. where the impact was on the roadway. owe that is what we're going to be progressing through at this point to make some determinations and come to conclusions about it. >> reporter: accordi
