martin luther king jr. this weekend, we cap off the 10th anniversary week by revisiting our conversation with a civil rights icon in her own right, coretta scott king. back in 2005, we traveled to atlanta for a very special program with miss king at the famed ebenezer baptist church, the church that was home base for dr. king during much of the civil rights movement. a conversation which would turn out to be one of her last on national television. we're glad you could join us to wrap up this 10th anniversary week with a conversation with coretta scott king, coming up right now. >> there is a saying that dr. king had that said there is always the right time to do the right thing. i just try to live my life every day by doing the right thing. we know that we are only halfway to completely eliminate hunger, and we have a lot of work to do. walmart committed $2 billion to fighting hunger in the u.s. as we work together, we can stamp hunger out. >> and by contributions to your pbs station from viewers like you.

the shooting suspect, robert gerry jr., once is a case transferred -- robert gladden jr wants his case transferred. >> barry simms is outside circuit court. >> the judge says he will continue -- considered remorse. robert gladden jr. had to listen about those issues. hours after the gunfire, police interviewed the suspects accused of bringing a shotgun to the campus and shooting in the cafeteria. in the interview, robert gladden jr. said he was tried to make a statement. he is trying to get his case transferred from adel to juvenile court. prosecutors are using his own worst to show he planned an attack and prove to reject -- toa judge in should be in any adult venue. the defense protested to recorded phone conversations in which gladden talked about the point of shooting, which seriously wounded a special needs child. the defense claimed it was not fair and statements would be taken out of context. the judge allowed it and gladden shows detectives how people the shotgun, pointed it at students, and pull the trigger. he told officers he carried 21 bullets saying he figured if i was goi

everybody, this city is not only known for inaugurations, it is the place where martin luther king jr have a dream speech during the march on washington, back in 1963. >> we're joined by the last living person who spoke on the program that day. congressman john lewis of georgia. he was number six on the program. dr. king was number ten. >> congressman lewis, i want before we begin to give our condolences, i know you lost your wife at the end of the year and we appreciate your time. >> thank you so much. we've been married for 44, a long time, 44 good years. >> well we appreciate you talking with us. and we want to talk a little bit about history as we asked ms. evers to stay with us as well. talk to me a little about a secondterm. in terms of history as we think about what president obama should be thinking about for his second term. what would you put top of the list? >> well i think it's important for this president during his second term, to -- comprehensive immigration law. we must bring the individuals that are living here in america, out of the shadow into the light. and set the

they basically told martin luther king jr. agitator, disturbing the peace now the book is about mom's life from alabama and dad's life together is now being published by university of alabama press. on june 11th is when george wallace locked the doors in 1960, i think 63. the irony is that june 11th is the same day that scott bagley passed. >> what is the last conversation that you had with your father -- with your mother? >> the last 1i don't remember literally my last conversation. my mother had a stroke in august of 2005 and from that point forward she didn't talk a lot. i don't remember the exact conversation. i remember the sunday before she had a stroke on tuesday, that some day i was in the bahamas and i called her to let her know that i've gotten there and was checking to make sure that she was okay. she had a minor stroke two weeks before. so always checking to make sure things were okay and i asked if she would sign this paper work because at that time we were trying to make sure that i got on hurt bank account and s
