juan lopez and [indiscernible] held a press conference about the ordeal today. they say the main feeling there, happy to be alive. 800 feet up, they were dangling country's tallest building. now safely on the ground, window washers are thinking first responders. thank you, everybody. i'm happy to be alive. as people at the 9/11 memorial watched from the the men hung from a broken cable at one world trade floor, clinging to their nearly vertical scaffolding. in the beginning it was panic. but panic turned to calm when york -- sawthe new new york's bravest was on the job. a rescue team inside the building used saws to cut panes. multiple firefighters performing a rescue what for them especially is hallowed ground. [indiscernible] >> and they did. juan putting it like this. god bless america. grateful for the work of women, the men and admit they are rethinking the next job assignment. it's a lot of ground floor jobs. we might want to take those for the moment. washing the windows of new york city skyscrapers has long of thensidered one world's most dangerous jobs.

we heard from 41-year-old juan lizama and 31-year-old yawn lopez. spoke to reporters for a half hour what its like to be dangling outside of the nation's tallest skyscraper. lizama called his wife and said it might be last opportunity to speak to each other and lopez the two din say much to each other in effort to remain calm. >> in beginning it was panic and pretty much survival instinct for a few minutes. after that, kind of clear your mind and try to get ahold of the situation. >> reporter: firefighters used diamond cutters to saw through a double layer window to pull them into safety. the port authority and federal occupational and safety administration, osha, both announced investigations. scaffold rig was investigate the wednesday morning as required before the window washers worked. juan lopez joked he might look into a ground floor window washing job for the time-being. heather: i can't say i blame him. laura engle. thank you. eric: sound like a good idea. here are stories we're following for you in the second hour of "happening now" an hour
