i think i saw rich (inaudible) in the planning department and topea, judson true and his entire team.as talking to robin a bit earlier, and it is not one thing, but it is over and over again, there is problem that if it is not going to be solved it will cause delay and cause budgets to sprirel out of control and having the city as a partner was incredibly partner. people have been asking like how did you guys do isthe at this price. we started november 2020. we had an aggressive budget, an aggressive schedule, and if nothing else it is testament when you have really smart people, you put them in a position to succeed and they work their butts off and i want to shout out to will, to nick, to sydney, to steve to lee, to clark, to everybody on the strada team. there is a huge amount of resources. i think we had more people working on this building then we dild on the 3 other buildings and it is wort it because this project is good for the city, it is great for this neighborhoods and hundreds and hundreds of peoples lives will be better because of this project. the second thing i'm immens

before i began i just want to thank our host, national press club president, jen judson, thank you somuch for your kind words i appreciate it. and the national press club board of governors as well as my friend and labor warrior, afl-cio president, liz schuller, thank you for coming and being here today. and also, our washington mid-atlantic president catherine clothes on a, little labor of solidarity here. and a shout out to the clubs, union staff who made this day possible. [applause] thank you. oh i am the president, of sag actra that's the largest entertainment union in the world. and i'm a proud member of the afl-cio. and one of the great conundrums that i face as a labor leader, is how do i stretch producers helped fund contributions, that basically increases by 3% a year across all eligible member claims, when health costs in america on average increased by six and a half percent. and the answer is, i can't. it's completely unsustainable. our trustees have a tough time dealing with the elephant in that room. and plus, the reserve that we have has to be a short term investment,

union general judson kilpatrick, who's the head of sherman's cavalry wrote his counterpart general joseph wheeler about the murder of 18 union soldiers whose throats had been cut. and kilpatrick follows the protocol the ritual of retaliation. he follows it exactly. he specifically describes the incident the atrocity. he asked for an explanation and then he said if no explanation is forthcoming that he would shoot 18 confederate prisoners. wheeler responded as you should respond in this ritual. he said he was shocked and outraged to hear about this. he promised to investigate he promised to do justice and he said if the report was correct that he agreed that retaliation should happen, but he preferred that it will be inflicted on the guilty parties and not on innocent prisoners of war. so kilpatrick was satisfied and he said that he trusted wheeler to investigate and find the guilty parties and then kilpatrick makes an extraordinary statement in his correspondence that reflects this obsession with pillaging and civilized war that we see in both armies during the american civil war. here's

of the usf school of law so we're happy to have him on the board of appeals and they heard at 277 judson street to construct a new adu but it was to prepare existing stairs and replace windows at the front back of the property. and back in 2015 when the permit was first filed, the applicant proposed a rear and side horizontal addition and the appellant filed a dr, siding it was incompatible with the neighborhood and the tr was heard by the commission in october of 2018 but the planning commission voted 5 to 0 to dr and require the depth of the extension to be reduced by 7 feet. while the project was approved by the planning department in january of 2019, the permit was not issued and then in 2022, it was picked back up and the owner revised the permit to eliminate all exterior expansion of the permit but there was an appeal by the same neighbor who filed the discretionary review and the neighbor expressed concerns about the revised plans but because the project no longer included physical expansion of the building and the adu is permitted under the state adu program, the board voted 3 to
