let's focus on markets here and julianne i want to get your take on where growth comes from.ond half of the year, here we are in the middle mark and inflation is an issue. we heard that yesterday with the cpi, seeing the largest increase in a decade on some areas of consumer pricing. >> you're absolutely right, maria. i think cpi has another leg on the upside. i think we're probably going to end up seeing that number print 6%. ppi gain today i think is going to be highly instructive. jay powell back in march said that -- he said he thought we would see firms reluctant to pass price increases on. he's been actually wrong. firms in a very, very robust demand environment have been very keen to pass price increases on and they're doing it in spades. the second thing i think when you look at the underlying growth prospects, yes, we're going to see some of these rates have changed. you can't support retail sales growth at 28% year over year. that's just a base effect from the pandemic. but when we look at the underlying economy, some of the biggest cycles that you get, cap ex, inve
