julie carey is there where there could be more victims. >> reporter: there could be. there was one apartment in this complex that was struck, the homes, the town homes, the homes he hit all in wooded areas like this one. now we are finding out there could be as many as 16 victims out there. >> neighbors told me there was a break in. i was very much concerned. >> reporter: that's been the reaction of more than a half dozen neighbors as word spread of a daytime home burglar. he hit this apartment and this townhouse. notice the similarities in the woods with a walking path nearby. the police saw a pattern, too. >> detectives and patrol officers noticed there was a pattern of daytime burglaries. they were all while people were at work or out of the home. >> reporter: their investigation led them to this man, 26-year-old daniel stanley. he's at the fairfax county detention center held without bond. the search warrant documents show he may be a suspect in some 16 cases. neighbors in what's known as the forest edge cluster have been on guard since early october when this tow

julie carey went to ashburn to find out how it happened. >> it's insane. >> it's odd.rrible. >> reporter: reactions of surprise as we told ashburn residents of the accident near the ramp to the greenway. investigators say it happened this way, a woman was driving on claiborne parkway when she hit a deer, it slammed into the side of a jogger coming down the path. the deer took off. both the women, the driver and the runner had to be taken to the hospital. this man who lives near the scene spotted the accident on his way home. >> it looked like a one-car crash. >> reporter: today, something caught his eye outside the fence. >> this morning, i noticed big vultures flig around and there's a dead deer that i guess was hit. >> reporter: he thought the accident and dead deer might be connected, but never imagined a jogger was injured by the airborne deer. >> it's an anomaly. you don't hear about a deer striking somebody. it got knocked off the path and hit the jogger. it was a surprise. >> reporter: the 71-year-old driver and 27-year-old jogger were treated for injuries and r

julie carey, news 4. >>> now to a developing story in the district tonight. we have new information about the investigation into two d.c. police officers suspected of having inappropriate conduct with young girls. news 4 has now learned a third officer is now being questioned in connection to one of these investigations. news 4s mark segraves joins us live from u.s. district court where one officer just appeared before a federal judge. mark? >> reporter: that's right. there was a bombshell dropped i. prosecutors told the judge that officer mark washington, who is already being charged for taking naked pictures of a 15-year-old girl over the weekend while on duty had hundreds of pictures of women, many of them crime victims, some of them underage girls who were naked con vinlsing prosecutors there are more victims out there. according to prosecutors, officer mark washington's camera contained hundreds of pictures of women, some of them victims of domestic violence, others, young girls with no clothes. they date back to 2011. washington has not entered a plea.
