. >>> we welcome back julie durda from our miami station.plg, with a look at the national forecast. good morning to you. >> good morning. we're finally seeing summer take full force across the midwest. they have been lucky to see temperatures more like fall over the last week. well, not anymore. we're going to heat up today and into tomorrow. warm in places like the midwest. temperatures will soar to the upper 90s. 94 the high tomorrow and into tuesday for minneapolis. there is a heat warning in effect for minneapolis. other areas dealing with heat advisories. across the midwest. let's look at what is going on across the northwest. we have the concern, again, about the fire danger. the only good news is, the winds will subside going into today and into the first half of the work week. we still have fire warnings and watches in effect for the northwest. a big concern for our friends out there with the low humidity in place. the southeast dealing with summer storms. all due to a stalled out frontal boundary. >> reporter: good morning, everyone

. >>> meantime, a check of the weather, and we want to welcome back meteorologist julie durda from our abc station in miami. wplg. good morning, julie? >> good morning. we are expecting to continue to watch the fires roar over the northwest and have fire warnings in effect for northeastern washington. a very dry air mass, low humidity and high winds are expected again for the northwest. a big concern for the firefighters out there. with those increasing winds and low humidity, it's not good news for our friends across the northwest. let's head to the southeast where we wish we could take all the wayne across the gulf coast states and take it to the northwest. they are expecting more rain. flash flooding possible up to 2 inches from new orleans all the way into the panhandle. now, that rain will start up towards the mid-atlantic states as we go to the end of the weekend but check out what a refreshing day it is for the northeast. temperatures well below average feeling more like fall instead of summer. , i'meteorologistchris sowers ws accuweather update. storm tracker 6 live double scan

cute. >> thanks, ron. >>> we want to get a check of the weather one more time from meteorologist julie durda miami, wplg. julie? >> good morning, dan and bianna. we'll start in the south west. the monsoonal flow brings scattered showers across the southwest, rather. denver saw scattered storms. i want to take you to this video. there's the possibility of mudslides because of the scattered storms. this is a home video received that happened yesterday. with some rain in place, mudslides are possible across colorado. as we go into the afternoon, we'll see dryer conditioning. where we'll see the severe storm threat, the midwest. strong storms expected by tomorrow and into tonight. now, as we take a look at the weather across most of that area, we're going to see a warmup today. and then, temperatures drop as we go into tuesday and wednesday. look at this. minneapolis, remember, we talked about the heat and humidity moving in. they'll have a high of 94 tomorrow. dropping off to temperatures in the upper 70s by wednesday. what about kansas city? a high of 94 on monday, 87 on wednesday. chicago, hi

. >>> let's get a check of the weather over to wplg by our meteorologist julie durda. ron. >> wow. know -- all right. ron. tell us how you really feel over there. all right, well, good morning, america. we are waking up to some very comfortable weather across the midwest. now, you have seen temperatures in the 50s for overnight lows with highs in the 70s across the whole midwest throughout the week. the warming trend begins now and instead of feeling like fall here comes summer. highs today in the low 80s. a live look outside. look how gorgeous it is out there. now, i got in trouble by seeing bright sunshine so i'm not going to sing it. absolutely gorgeous so let's move on. we are expecting a warming trend to begin as we go into early next week and do have an excessive height warning in effect. minneapolis, you will definitely feel like summer on monday. a temperature of 94 degrees. kansas city, the 90s. as we get into early next week, detroit, where is this heat coming from? all from the southwest. check it out, temperatures well into the triple digit it? s and phoenix, las vegas,
