. >> and i'm julie haener. tonight more than 100 people joined the young woman's participants to mark the tragic anniversary. jana katsuyama joins us live from castro valley with what the family says has helped them through the past two decades, jana. >> reporter: the lin family tells us that every year this crowd just keeps getter bigger. tonight they packed the castro valley library with more than 150 people who came and used ribbons they brought out in the color blue. her favorite color, all to remember jenny lynn. the small candle came as the reminder of jenny lynn came as a reminder of her short life. school, friend, and her bright future ahead. they also brought back the terror and lost from may 27, 1994 when her parents came home and found their daughter tied up and stabbed to death on the bathroom floor. >> even though it's 10 years, it feels like it was yesterday. the pain is still there. >> we also wanted to live jenny's life for her because she doesn't have the opportunity to do that. and we love her

good evening i'm julie haener. >> and i'm frank somerville. a 9-year-old girl is hospitalized after she was attacked with a hammer by a school volunteer. jana katsuyama live now at oakland children's hospital with new information about a possible motive in the case, jana. >> reporter: frank, first of all i checked with school officials who say the girl is being treated for injuries but they could not go into specific details. i did obtain a copy of the letter they sent out to parents saying they were outraged and they explained to the parents what they knew. the third grade student was outside on the playground around 10:40 this morning. a parent volunteer lured the guile into a near by bath -- the girl into a near by bathroom then the woman assaulted the girl with a hammer. students who were near by said they were scared. >> i just saw the police, they were coming into the boy's bathroom. >> reporter: the alleged attacker is hasima deyame not a stranger but a parent well known on campus who was a frequent volunteer. investigators are still tr

d i'm julie haener amount convenience store filled with customers, and a robber armed with a shotgun. police say not only did he demand cash, but he hit one man with his gun. live at that store on north capitol avenue in san jose. you spoke with the clerk who was inside when it happened. >> reporter: yeah, that's right. just imagine, several customers were inside at the time, when this robber stormed in, at 10:30 a.m. two weeks ago, waving his shotgun around, demanding everyone to get on the floor. this surveillance video shows a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses walking into drive liquors with a shotgun. the man immediately shouting, and cursing at customers to get on the ground. even striking one of them in the face with his gun, knocking him down. what you don't see is the fear of the woman behind the counter. >> then he yelled at us like, open the drawer, get the money out. >> reporter: the gunman demanded she open the register. >> give it toe me then! >> it's possible, if he mad, he maybe shoot at me. >> reporter: he then grabs an undisclosed amount of cash, before r
