lee joins us now. she's live in oakland after speaking with the group's co-founder and a newly homeless mother about their hopes for the holiday season. amber >> julie, the nonprofit works with women who have fallen on hard times. the homeless mom tells me she's always taken a care of herself and her children, so it's difficult to be in the position now to ask for help. so this is some of the things that we're working on. nadine scott, co-founder of ariel outreach mission, is working on finding housing for mariah haynes, a homeless single mom of two young sons. the 31 year old tells me she recently became homeless after her subleasing arrangement ended. then a car accident left her with leg injuries that require surgery. now she's unable to work for at least six weeks. >> being homeless is my worst. it's my worst fear. you know, i'm not providing for my children. >> haynes is staying with a friend for now, and her children are with family members for the thanksgiving holiday. still she says she's thankful for help from scott's nonprofit. it is focused on helping struggling single moms and domestic violence survivors, connecting them with services su
