today, joining me now, chris stirewalt, charles hurt, and fox news contributor, and julie roginsky, a fox news contributor. welcome all. good to have you here tonight. so, i'm sure you had your popcorn out this afternoon and enjoyed all 78 minutes or so of that. what did you think? >> i kept writing, then, rewrite, then, tear it up, then, right again. the truth is, donald trump, if it was his gut that told him to have a press conference, his gut was quite right. the only thing, the only thing, the only group of people in the world who are more obsessed with the press then donald trump is the press themselves. by going out there and pummeling, humiliating -- it was like pro wrestling smack down, cnn, bbc, he was right when he said, tomorrow they are going to say, "donald trump ranted and raved." he was writing their headlines for them. it got him off of a bunch of stories that was bad for his administration i got the press talking about what they like to talk about most, themselves. >> martha: charles, i think he has a two pronged approach to get back in touch with the people. i think

therefore, i give him a solid b. >> martha: julie roginski is going to give him an a plus i just knowuch fan. julie, what did you think? how did he do this week. >> chris is right. did he have some successes and alex is right as well. he did get his people confirmed. there is question of betsy devos she was confirmed. in that sense it was a good win for the white house. i will say the most troubling thing to me this week is actually what happened yesterday and this morning with michael flynn which is a problem that could potentially last much longer than just the week where michael flynn seemingly forced the vice president to come out and say something that charity tabbably could be called several untruths about whether he discussed sanctions with the russian ambassador prior to him becoming national security advisor. and so that becomes a big problem that potentially could open this administration up to hearings on the issue. and so as a result of that, i would give him a c minus. >> martha: c's from julie and chris. chris, how big a deal is this michael flynn, russia question? >> we

and julie roginsky. welcome to both you. would like to address the substance, as we know it, as were to happen here in terms of his communication with this russian official. pete hoekstra, let me start with you. there is something called the logan act, which says that a citizen is not allowed to contact a foreign government and make any sort of agreement with them. do you think that a violation of that happened here? do think that is the incoming nsa director, he had every right to discuss things with russian officials? >> as an incoming national security advisor to the president, he should be having these conversations with the russians, with the chinese, the british, the french, the germans, israelis. it is his job because on januars is going to become president of the united states of america and you just can't start at that point in time in terms of reaching out to foreign governments. foreign governments know that it is the incoming administration. he can't be negotiating and making deals at this point in time. everybod
