columbus junction senior mauricio rameriz had an amazing hs career rushing for over 1,000 yards all 3 years. in his final regular season game against edddyville rameriz rushed for 129 yards, caught 2 touchdown passes and retuned a kick and punt for td's leading columbus junction to the playoffs for the first time since 1997. i was born in 97 so yes it is crazy that it has been that long. it's honor to be part of starting the tradition again here at columbus. off the field it is has been a difficult year for mauricio his mother marilyn is terminally ill diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, bone cancer and a brain tumor. i think about when i play anytime i do a good play or something i think about her and just want to make her proud. it has been a difficult time so it has been a welcome joy. the community of columbus junction has rallied around the ramerez family and dollars at a fund raiser. and even put a new roof on the family's house. my community is great they carry our family on their backs i can't say anything except for thank you. the good wishes, the visits the incredible gifts

this is a nice place here canton junction. unfortunately too many commuters were spending too much time outside on the platform this last winter. so they did not have a great time here. waiting for their late and canceled trains throughout the brutal snow driven winter performance of the nbta. this morning, it was just cold. the flurries yesterday obviously were shocking for people of the perspective here this morning. the governor and nbta push ahead with plans to make sure that this coming winter does not turn into a reprize of last winter. costs $84 million that focus on infrastructure improvements, as well as investment in to training and snow removal equipment. and reworking winter protocols. tonight part of the winter resiliency plan goes in to place on orange line in city. 8:45 to close of service. buses will replace the trains between oak grove and sullivan stations. not just tonight but also tomorrow. wednesday and thursday. and the same timesk 8:45 to close in between the same stations. nbta hoping this planned servi

davis county high school's zach hougland won the race in columbus junction earlier this week. after finishing -- he noticed another runner was on the ground -- nearly unconscious. zach ran back into the course and helped the runner finish -- however helping another runner in the race -- is against the rules -- and disqualifies both runners. but zach says he still believes he did the right thing. "if i could do it again i probably wouldn't change much because i just did what i thought was right." zach's team did score well enough to qualify for state -- so he will be able to run in the state meet this saturday in fort dodge. and we'll have highlights from the meet on saturday. although the hawkeyes are seven and oh -- saturday's football game against maryland is yet to sell out. some fans say they're concerned -- considering how good the team is playing. however -- the director of athletic communications says it most likely has to do with maryland's fans not (steve roe/director of athletic communications) "there's several things that go into ticket the opponent, maryland being
