venus is close to us and jupiter is millions of millions away. it's very cool. doesn't happen often. that is my astronomy lesson of the day. let's talk weather. severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9:00 for the viewing area. so far not so much in severe storms or any storms. we have had a few on the eastern shore. they persist east of the area. the real traction is west of the appalachians. it is warm and pleasant. we top out at 89. average high now is up to 88. 71 and the low temperatures of 70 the average low for this final day of june. now as far as the big line out west we are tracking this all afternoon. fairly slowing moving. even if the storms hold together it's probably 10:00 or 11:00 until they get here. one thing we have been watching with steve rudin the fact it's only one or two severe thunderstorm warnings in the entire line for the afternoon. so with that said, if we get any showers or storms, the watch -- okay, thanks it won't amount to anything. steve rudin poked his head in and said they canceled the severe thunderstorm watch. few good reas
