justice for you since 1972. gasia of slavery in the us, they're seeking to provide reparations for berkeley students with ancestors who were enslaved. the task forceill be comprised of 15 to 20 members who will determine how to structure and implement the program and how to pay for it. the first meeting is set for april 24th and the group is expected to release a set of recommendations by january of next year. oakland teachers are calling for a one day sick out tomorrow is contract negotiations continue. educators plan to rally right in front of skyline high school tomorrow, starting at 7 30 in the morning. then they will hold a rally at frank ogawa plaza, starting at 11 in the morning. the teachers say the sick out is in reaction to what they call the districts insulting contract proposal. the two sides are far apart on pay, class size and other issues. the teachers are calling for a nearly 23. salary increase. the district says that school will continue tomorrow as normal on the contract talks, the district said in a statement. the district's proposal will reduce the number of years of experience required to reach maximum pay from 32 years to 19
