state representatives justin jones and justin j.r terms in the tennessee house. despite being reinstated by local leaders back in april, the dual still had to run for their own seats. both justices gained national attention when republicans kicked them out of the tennessee general assembly for participating in a gun safety protest on the house floor. the protest erupted after a shooting in a christian school in nashville. six people dead, including 39-year-old students. nbc news reports, the lawmakers return may, quote, provide momentum for democrats and other lawmakers who support gun measures ahead of a special legislative chastain scheduled later this month. the governor -- republican called specifically to address gun reform. joining us now, tennessee state representative justin j. pearson. representative pierson, thanks so much for being with us. i want to start with how this all began. calls for gun safety reform. what do you believe that fight looks like with the legislature, when it heads back into session? >> our legislatur
