i'm justine waltman. our top story this afternoon is the point fire. it's burning right now in sonoma county. this wildfire has grown to nearly 1200 acres. it is 20% contained. one firefighter has been injured but is expected to be okay. this wildfire did start yesterday in the area of stewarts point skaggs spring road. this is near lake sonoma and we have team coverage for this afternoon. we'll start with kron four's tiffany justice who is live for us there in sonoma county. some of the smoke there burning on the hillside behind you. what's it like out there right now? exactly. we have gotten much closer to the fire. you can see some of the smoke burning right behind us on that mountainside. we've also seen a lot of vehicles with cal fire. >> and fire rescue. so we know that this fire is being wind driven. >> cal fire has issued evacuation orders and evacuation warnings with the fire at 20. >> containment destroyed multiple buildings and according to cal fire, they say there is potential for further spread of this fire. >> now, residents living north

i'm justine waltman. there was a violent and chaotic scene that broke out saturday night at lake berryessa. one man shot and killed several otheo people were stabbed. the napa county sheriff's office has now made one arrest. kron 4 sarah stinson has the story. >> a large fight broke out between 2 groups at lake berryessa saturday obviously the shooting. >> it was stabbings and punches. so there pardons involved, injured. >> napa county sheriff oscar ortiz describes the scene as chaotic at the oaks shores day use area. deputies responded to the west shore around 5.30 and found a man who had been shot administered cpr to attempt lifesaving measures. >> fortunately, they were unsuccessful. so that person was pronounced at the the sheriff says 2 people were also found with stab wounds and taken to the hospital during the fight. a man grabbed a gun from his car and shot and killed. a 39 year-old man from vallejo. the victim has been identified as andres fabienne sandoval garcia. the alleged shooter then drove

i'm justine waltman. it's our first heat wave of 2024. it's hot out there already scorching temperatures. you can feel it in some parts of the bay area right now. some places could hit 100 degree is a live look outside here at san francisco to toast today in the city. there is a heat advisory that has been issued for parts of the bay area. meteorologist kyla grogan here now with those details. it's a warm one. yeah, tell you we are flirting with triple digit heat right now in santa rosa. just hit 98 degrees. 95 in nevada. you can see downtown san francisco. it's 70 degrees in our east bay is where we're also. >> seeing some of that heat pick up right now conquered and 96 and a little cooler down in the south bay where we're not under that heat advisory until tomorrow morning. so you can see right now just 85 degrees in san jose. having said that, you can see where the heat advisory is and heat warnings and these basically go through midnight on thursday. that is when we'll start to see things break down. we'll start to see a difference in

i'm justine waltman. we're going begin with the latest on the wildfires that are burning right now. crews again battling that crystal fire and napa county yesterday afternoon and saint helene at right near the intersection of crystal springs road and silverado trail. that fire has burned 60 acres. it is 75% contained right now. 4 firefighters were hurt in this and the fire to destroy one building and the crown fire burning in san joaquin county has burned more than 14,000 acres. it is 98% contained. that wildfire started saturday afternoon near lawrence livermore, national laboratory. the wildfire did not threaten the labs facilities because the flames spread away from the site. the cause of the fire is under investigation. and these 2 fires have crews on their heels and sounding the alarm today. fire season is here. kron four's terisa stasio has the story. >> the summer is here. there grasses are the most receptive to you know, we have a slogan. one less spark, one less wildfire. that's cal fire division chief in incident commander mike wink. >> he spoke to me while at the crystal

for more on this kron four's justine waltman spoke with san francisco's mayor line in brea.ht. this was just announced today. yes, the reproductive freedom act. you try to safeguard access to abortions. there's lots of different things in it. but first off, why he wants san francisco to be sort of a sanctuary city for abortions and abortion rights after the dobbs decision 2 years ago when so many people thought that we would never overturn roe v wade. there were so many people in the bay area who wanted to make sure that our reproductive freedoms were protected, but also that women all over the country would have a sanctuary in the bay area. so we created the bay area, abortion rights bark as a response to that. but it also didn't make as much traction a lot of other people in san francisco really wanted to get actively engaged and wanted to do something. and this ballot measure that will be on the ballot. this november is an opportunity for san franciscans to roll up their sleeves and to support reproductive freedoms in 2 ensure that we send a strong message that san franci
