. >> and jutten finch is in washington. justin, what are you seeing this morning? >> reporter: eun, good morning, the embassy has been a place for mourning. as you see a wreath here and bouquets as well. and also a small sign that says united with manchester, a tribute to the 22 dead and dozens injured in manchester. the united kingdom terror threat has been raised. nonetheless, security and safety is now a hot topic united states, as we approach the holiday weekend. and talk of soft targets being perhaps attacked. these are large civilian venues and events. here, we're hearing of no known threats. metro police also saying tlets as well, but in rossdale, prepares are under way for hometown holiday. the city is prepared. >> we have no known threats but every year, we evaluate how things went and what we can do to improve. we'll work with all of the local jurisdictions. we're already working with them. and i feel confident that as ready as we can be. >> reporter: and hometown holidays expect up to 60,000 people over the weekend. 20,000 at that parade alone. officials

interview exclusively as we interviewed his news4's justin finch is live at the embassy in northwest washington with more on his story. jutten. >> reporter: good morning, kenneth spears called it the worst kind of nightmare. the fear that this son could have been hurt or worse in that manchester attack. as you mentioned, his son is a drummer. he was on stage because he's in ariana grande's band. taking you to video that we have. he lives in prince george's county. his son aaron called him immediately to say he was okay. arianna and the band had just walked off the stage when that bomb blast went off. aaron said on instagram that he and his band mates are devastated. now that young lives have been lost and families have been wrecked by his tragedy. back in prince george's county, his father kenneth says that he's relieved. >> high heart just jumped. oh, my goodness. the worst kind of nightmare. he i'm all right. >> reporter: and here at the embassy this morning, a small tribute to the manchester victims and survivors. a wreath reading to manchester with love. and a card that reads united with manchester. aaron is still overse
