kai jackson explains if you don't plan ahead of time you can get stuck in traffic. i'm a witness to that, kai. >> reporter: you do have to plan ahead. the changes have already started taking place. drivers around town will start experiencing delays and headaches, but that will be offset by a combination of improved safety and better travel. from the national pike, to the baltimore region, construction is going to begin. >> you're going to have construction some where along your travels. >> reporter: the overpass is being replaced, a $25 million project. tuesday night the state highway administration installed concrete barriers to direct the flow of traffic. >> as you look down there toward the 695 over pass at liberty road what does it look like? >> it's confusion right now. but, they're working on it. >> reporter: on interstate 83 or the jfx they've been doing work road repaving or resurfacing. funneling three lanes of traffic down to one. that creates quite a bottleneck creating frustration for driving. this project is scheduled to be completed by summer of next ye
