you just heard cnn reporter kaitlan collins in that clip. she went on to ask the president a few more questions, mostly about vladimir putin. according to cnn, after the white house announced another event in the rose garden later in the day, collins herself was asked to come to former fox news executive bill shine's office in the west wing. she was met by shine, who is these days deputy chief of staff for communications in the white house. and by white house press secretary sarah huckabee sanders. shine told her she was disinvited because the questions she asked why inappropriate for the venue and that she was shouting. condemnation quickly poured in from the news media. even fox news supported the cnn correspondent in this case. the white house statement read, quote, "at the conclusion of a press event in the oval office a reporter refused to leave. any other journalist from her network can attend. she said it didn't matter to her because she hadn't planned to be here anyway. to be clear, we support a free press and ask that everybody be r

kaitlan collins is live in nato headquarters in belgium. the president made it clear that military spending and defense spending irks him. but it doesn't seem to be accurate. >> the president was making several remarks, not holding back when talking about defense spending. we knew he wouldn't. he made it clear he was going to have a combative tone when he arrived but during those remark s at the breakfast before he arrived at nato. the president made several remark remarks and was singling out journey, a favorite target throughout all his complaints about nato and he was saying they were only going to be 1% when they were supposed to be at 2% by 2024 and he said something interesting. he said the u.s. in actual numbers is spending 4.2% of its gdp on defense. i'm looking at numbers just released by nato yesterday and it estimates the united states will spend 3.5% of its gdp on defense in 2018. that's slightly lower than what it spent in 2017 which was 3.57%. nowhere near the 4.2% number. the president made quite clear he was referring to gdp

kaitlan collins, thank you very much. now let's get more on the first court order deadline for immigrant children to be reunited with their parents. cnn's nick watt was at the hearing in san diego. nick, what's the latest there? >> reporter: well, jim, it is now very clear that the federal government is going to miss a key deadline. and that deadline was set for tuesday by a judge here in san diego. he said that by tuesday the government had to reunite all children under five with their parents. that is now not going to happen. because -- what we've heard is there are now 101 children in custody under the age of five. the math saul a little bit fuzzy but that is the latest figure. we are told that of those 101, 46 children have been matched to parents currently in ice detention. that is no problem. we can reunite them. but 19 parents have been deported and 19 parents have been released to this country, so that is going to be hard to do. what the judge has said is by 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, 5:00 p.m. saturday pacific time, he
