so why, kaitlin, would it be now that we're being told we're inching toward a tipping point? is this really about concerns over political attack ads? because the meat for that has been there for a while. >> these have been there for a while. i think one thing to consider, too, is what a confirmation fight would look like for a replacement for scott pruitt. remember, the margins in the senate are razor thin. we're seeing that in the supreme court fight which is going to take the whole entire summer so to get someone confirmed in this congress is an uphill battle and we've seen that before. another thing to consider though is the utter shamelessness that we've been seeing from pruitt, headline after headline after headline ands is specially the reporting from kaitlan collins so was revealing about the stature he feels he has with the president so those are some things to consider. i note that i've been talking to democratic strategists who have been trying to make corruption centerpieces of various congressional campaigns and they think they have a lot to work with in terms of

the bottom line, kaitlin is not allowed in. trying not to be angry about this because i've been on this job for 21 years. wolf, we were together at the white house during the clinton years. what you do is when you bring the press into an open availability and the president is there, we are allowed to lob questions at the president. you don't just have us come just to see. sometimes we lob questions. and you cannot at this moment in history in time think that we're not going to ask. you don't have to answer. do not think we're not going to ask a question. what's curious to me is, one, bill shine was in that room standing. a picture was posted on twitter how bill shine was standing there in a very intimidating manner in the door. that's one thing right there. intimidation. there's always some kind of retaliation. this is over the top. i'm thinking about this, because this is strategic what they did. kaitlin was in that room, the last press briefing, asking strategic and good questions that needed to be answered. >> very politely.
