kala rama is gathering new details from the scene p. kala. >> i can tell you i learned new information about the p in the last 15 minutes from the cab company. that cab was dispatched to bedford to pick someone up. when the man got in the car, he tried to rob the cab driver. well, the cab company says that their 57-year-old driver is a strong wild type, the type that wouldn't freely give up his money so then some kind of struggle ensued and the suspect pulled out a gun. when the two started fighting, the cab driver hit the crater by accident -- crate tore by -- accelerator by accident and the gun went off killing the cab driver. this is a normally quiet area of bedford street. the cab with the doors open and crime scene investigators is a crown vic. it doesn't have cameras and it does not have a partition. police have not made any arrests but they are looking into a robbery that is possibly connected. a driver had a similar situation last week where they were robbed. no violence occurred then but this time it went awry. still no arrests
