yesterday at about 4:15, yesterday afternoon, mayor cava and chief kaminski asked for a support teamh and rescue. fema was in the room at the exact same time. the informal communication of that request happened in minutes, so that request was sent up and mobilized and we have followed up with the necessary paperwork. so, again, i think it's important for everyone to understand that as soon as mayor cava, chief kaminski, director ramirez need resources, we're working with the lieutenant governor, mayor, there is no daylight between either one of those. so i think that's important for everyone to know. i would say that we also are mobilizing today a florida bus to help people get i.d. cards for those that have been displaced. they need i.d. cards and drivers licenses and things of that nature. that bus will be deployed today and should be here on site tomorrow. thank you. >> thank you, director. and now the surfside mayor, charles burkett. >> i just have a handful of things i want to share with you. first, this morning i was at the site and i observed hundreds of search and rescue peop

miami-dade fire rescue chief kaminsky. >> good morning. i just wanted to emphasize the hard work that all our personnel are doing here on scene. miami-dade fire rescue and their efforts in relentless time and our task force and all of their support is nothing, but amazing. it is an extremely, extremely difficult situation. nothing has changed. we're dealing with inclement weather as i speak. we keep looking forward and keep looking for sign-specific things as we're checking areas and focusing on our grids and the rescue grids as i mentioned so many times and the delayering process, a very difficult situation. we are working collaboratively in a group in trying to obtain that goal and that's to save someone's life. it's been tough. i have to emphasize that. it's been tough. talking to our personnel the spirits are high. we're still moving forward. we see the resources coming through. we're exhausting every avenue here, but it's a very, very dangerous situation, and i can't understate that, and so i appreciate our efforts and all our support

now miami-dade fire chief allen kaminsky. >> good evening. we continue with our aggressive search and rescue strategy. we're able to contain the fire, minimize the smoke earlier this morning, around 10:30, 11:00. and we've continued the search and rescue efforts. currently, we're searching the entire debris field. we separated into multiple sections and we're actively, with our five task force that we rotate through, we actively are applying our search and rescue techniques. we're still aggressively using all of our tools that we have in regards to the sonar. we've done several sweeps, again, with the debris field, with our k-9, as well as using any type of video equipment that we have, as we're establishing these search techniques. we'll continue going through this, you know, as hard as we can, i'm very proud of our task force members, very proud of miami-dade fire rescue and all of our activities that we've done and we're going to continue searching and hopefully with a positive outcome. >> thank you, chief. and now erika benitez, miami-dad
