also schools being closed across the kansas city metro for today.cy of this snow, i will just show you guys, it is very light and fluffy and powdery and disappears as you pick it up. not the type of snow you want to be building auto snowman with or snowball fight all those kiddos out of school today. the issue is the fact that a lot of folks are without power. we are under a cold weather advisory here in kansas city all the way until 11:00 a.m. local time. that is a big issue is we are looking at 33,000 customers across the show me state of missouri that are without power. and kansas though, thankfully, we are fairing quite a bit better looking at just about 500 total customers that are without power at this time. so those utility crews have been working around the clock to try to get that power restored as well as those snow removal crews hats off to them. we still have snow on the ground but it looks significantly better than it did especially this time yesterday morning. we have a pretty thick layer of ice that is currently under all of this snow
