matt and tam. >> thanks karen. northern california are gaining ground on two devastating wildfires. the first one called the valley fire is now 30 percent contained. those flames, though, destroyed nearly 600 homes so far. another 9,000 structures are still at risk of catching fire at that time the other fire in butte, california, is 40 percent contained and some nearby communities have lifted evacuation orders. >> new this morning, a dentist from northeastern pennsylvania was among three tourists killed when a plane crashed in alaska. the faa says the plane went down shortly after takeoff yesterday. the aircraft belongs to a local lodge that was taking 10 people to a fishing site. many of the seven survivors are seriously hurt. the ntsb is investigating the cause of the crash. >>> and former president jimmy carter shared an update on his cancer battle last night. 90-year-old carter says he's received the second of four planned doses of a drug to fight the disease. the treatment is aimed at four tumors on his brain

all right, good morning to you karen. good morning, everybody.is often the case at this early hour, our major problem on the roadways is construction and we've got some of it here on the northeast philadelphia bucks county line along 95 southbound. if you look way in the distance there you can see the restriction in the southbound lanes, just the left lane open to traffic coming off of woodhaven road headed down toward academy road. these crews should be out of here within the next half hour. and this is the vine street expressway. again, they were working here westbound overnight by broad street. still taking out the right lane. same situation. the crews should clear within the next half hour and this was scheduled to be the last night of this construction until after the papal visit so after tonight, you should be good to go until october on the vine street expressway. fingers crossed on that. burlington bristol bridge, triple b upright for a bridge opening for a northbound ship f you're headed out in the next couple minutes head for the turnpi

good morning toy, karen. good morning, everybody.structiony construction crews working despite the muggy conditions along 95 in the great northeast right on the bucks county line. running a little bit late now here in the southbound lanes. they were scheduled to clear at 5:00 but they're still out here blocking the two right lanes so just the left lane is squeezing by and traffic is a little bit slow coming down from street road through this point at woodhaven on 95 southbound. but overnight work on the vine street expressway westbound and the schuylkill expressway near passyunk, those zones have cleared nonissues so far this morning on the roosevelt boulevard and construction crews are now gone from the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound in chester county all lanes reopened but on the northeast extension southbound approaching quakertown the right lane is still blocked for overnight work. and mercer county the calhoun street bridge mostly blocked this morning for construction until 6:00. head for the trenton makes bridge or the trenton
