karen rogers is out on the terrace and karen, you've got more on how things feel out there right now and what's coming next. >> yeah the winds have picked up in the past half hour. still a mix of snow and sleet pretasted out here. we've got a good 3-inches on the terrace outside so you're commuting in quite a bit of snow. i want you to look at these the temperatures through the region. 45 in cape may. the flow off the ocean is moistening things tup its rain down there, 35 millville, 33 at philadelphia international airport right now. you have that mix of sleet and snow but just in the 20's in the lehigh valley, teens in the poconos so really a range in temperature and the that's why we have such a range in precipitation. look at the wind gusts. we're now up to 30 miles an hour in that philadelphia but at times we'll see up to 50 miles an hour wind gusts with this powerful nor'easter. lehigh valley, north and west suburbs, this is heavy snow, one to 2 feet. philadelphia the i-95 corridor, a mix of snow and sleet which we're seeing now. then back to snow. it's the colder air pulls in a

and go to karen rogers.morning. >> yeah, we're getting more details of this accident scene that we have. we have a vehicle that just kind of ran off the road way into a snow bank. now we hear they're waiting for a medical helicopter to come to the scene so a very serious accident here. this is chadds ford delaware county route one at baltimore pike. they're blocking lanes right now at creek road. we see a number of emergency workers dealing with this vehicle that's off to the side right now and waiting for a medical helicopter here so you can kind of get a sense from this you see a big fire truck the ice on the roads in this area. you really need to be careful. while some roads seem fine in other areas, you've got slick conditions and now this very serious accident right here so watch for this one. this is baltimore pike route one at creek road as you head towards 202 you'll be dealing with this accident scene where they're currently blocking lanes awaiting a medical helicopter to come to the scene. we're ou

let's turn to meteorologist, david murphy and karen rogers.d morning. >> this afternoon we definitely can. right now maybe some rain gear for some of you on the way out the door. these are light nuisance showers and they're not everywhere but you can see that down in south jersey through camden county, gloucester county and then down in through cumberland and salem counties and very shortly in cape may and atlantic counties you are looking at a couple of light sprinkles and showers a bit of this down through delaware and there's another batch moving through bucks county getting ared to pop back into montgomery and chester counties and there's addition in ally stuff out to the west. i think the last of this probably gets through after the end of the rush hour. temperatures not as bad this morning as they were yesterday. we're already at 44 degrees in philadelphia. yesterday we were well down into the 30's t39 degrees in allentown, 43 in cape may and winds not really much of a factor yet either. just a light breeze so far. maybe a little bit win

. >> meteorologist, karen rogers, is in for david murphy outdoors with the outlook from accuweather. karen, sunny but very cold. >> it is cold but at least we have the sunshine, we have that going for us today. it's nice and bright and as i look at snow i see hints of puddles near them and slow to melt and the sun is trying to do its job. and the numbers through the area, satellite 6 along with action radar showing us we have clear skies all morning and bright sunshine and the beauti we see clouds trying to fill in from the north and west. we see sun mixing with clouds here and there, and it's a pretty afternoon, it's cold in the lehigh valley and below freezing and 30 degrees and 37 in coatesville. in kennett square and 36 in saint davids and 33 in levittown, and 34 degrees in center city. how about the suburbs in knowledge in browns mills and glassboro and 35 in woodbine and 35 on the boardwalk in a.c. and the winds are a real issue gusting 35 miles per hour. right now through philadelphia and through the area we are looking at wind gusts, 25 to 35 miles per hour around the region.

. >> let's start with that david murphy and karen rogers. >> reporter: all right, guys, it's dry as a bone on the tears i tears -- terrace, not so much in allentown and reading. it's in berks county and lehigh county. it's rain farther south, but the snow line is pushing toward philadelphia and will be here before the end of the rush hour. a winter weather advisory is in effect across the northern suburbs, lansdale, doylestown included in this, this has been extended until 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. slushy slick road conditions are possible in the northern areas, especially as any band of snow gets heavier and comes on through. i do think a lot of accumulation will be on the grassy surfaces and in philadelphia, the roads will remain just wet. the farther north you go into the advisory area, the better chance you have of slippery roads this morning. allentown was at 38 we're down to 34. reading is above freezing. again, even though you start out with wet roads in the area, some roads could become slushier later. in philadelphia, i don't think we'll have much trouble. future tracker 6, m
