karen: i don't think so. think most commodity indices are really over concentrated in oil, and some investors have only oil. if you think about all the different things that go into our economy, oil is just one piece. after oil, you have something like steel that makes a lot of the physical things we buy, and investors don't have that exposure, partially for historic , random reasons. the main components for still have been mostly traded in chinese markets and singapore, so most u.s. investors just haven't come across at the same way. but that is almost as important as oil to our economy. with all of the discussion about carbon transition and how many commitment have been made to get to net zero, you can't ignore the fact that oil has a lot of idiosyncratic lyrical risk. the choices that policy makers make on how to tax carbon, how to make that transition will affect price of oil idiosyncratically, so having a basket of commodities that also includes things like copper, aluminum, steel, you are much more dive
