karen gilchrist is here to break it all down for us. >> these stock moves really should come with a whiplash. u.s. futures are seen lower overnight, this after china announced retaliatory tariffs on the u.s. over the u.s. move to impose levees on beijing. this is a reversal of positivity that had seeped through after trump announced that canada and mexico would see pause in their tariffs coming through after negotiations progressed between those countries. and it has come after a major selloff in markets on monday in response to these tariffs. now asian stocks are seen to be moving higher. but european markets are seen opening lower after china responded, and we'll certainly be looking for the reaction on wall street coming up. trump announced an executive order to launch a sovereign wealth fund for the u.s. and he has said this could be used for things such as buying tiktok, which, of course, is looking for a u.s. buyer at the moment. but also more traditional things like infrastructure projects, including airports and transportation facilits as well as sort of improving u.s. in greenland.
