we have team -- karen anderson is also available for us giving us some insight. what do you know? karen: a man walked up to a homeland security vehicle, put down a box, and quickly walked away. because it had some wires over it, there was concern. the bomb squad was called in. that was detonated. what happens now is they try to find the person who left that and also begin the investigation, perhaps searching for fingerprints on the device, look to see if there were in fact explosives inside. now becomes the next part of this. we have learned they are searching for a person who put this down so that is part of the focus, and the other focus is trying to figure out exactly what was inside that box. >> thank you for that. but you are looking at aerials of that scene as they try to figure out what exactly was in that box. it was detonated about 15 minutes ago and the investigation continues into exactly what was inside, and who this person was who dropped it. >> i think the response we have seen, this huge police presence on atlantic is a result of what is happened in the past few week

karen anderson is live at the statehouse. karen: this group is testifying for a bill that has been available for a decade. teachers impacted by sexual abuse are hoping that their voices will be heard. >> what turned out as -- what started as complements an extra tension turned quickly into rape. karen: speaking out as a survivor, calling on lawmakers it comes to students of used by educators. >> children are somehow supposed to protect themselves from adult sexual predators. karen: she joined the parents and victims of sexual abuse, calling to make it a crime for teachers to have sexual involvement with students under the age of 19. a review of state records found teacher licenses were suspended or each year. many never received criminal charges because the age of the student was 16. he has been calling on lawmakers to take action on this case for a decade after a case and his town. the boy was 16. >> everyone assumed that this is wrong and should be illegal. and when you try to find out where it fits in the law, it karen: wha

tips came in after karen anderson brought us the story last month. she' s live at the breaking news desk. karen: this was a girl who was found murdered near baltimore 39 years ago. she was never identified, the evidence connects her to boston. the baltimore county police say they have just received a tip possibly giving her a name. they are not releasing it until they have more information, but they are saying the girl and her family may have moved to forbes street in jamaica plain from puerto rico when she was 5 or 6. she may have attended catholic school on wyman street and disappeared when she was 15. 5 investigates told you last month that the girl was found tortured near a baltimore county cemetery in 1976. high-tech tests of her clothing found rare pollens only from a site in new york and the arnold arboretum in jamaica plain. scene, including a grass seed bag and keys, came from massachusetts. police are withholding the possible name of the girl, hoping more people may come forward with information. we' ll keep you posted. karen anderson, 5 inv

here's investigative reporter karen anderson. karen: it's just before sunrise at south station in boston and already a reminder of the threat of terrorism. armed homeland security police officers are here making an unannounced inspection. they're part of a t.s.a. v.i.p.r. team which stands for visual intermodal prevention and response. working with amtrak police and their bomb-sniffing dogs, looking for suspicious behavior, how likely is it that there will be a terrorist attack here in the united states on a train? sean burke: we have to expect it. you know, that's the bottom line. karen: sean burke is head of the center for resilient studies at northeastern and a former homeland security official. train attacks are happening overseas. he says there's nothing in place to guarantee it won't happen here. sean burke: passenger rail systems are designed to be open. specifically put in densely populated areas. a system that is vulnerable really, you know, from the beginning of its trip to the end of its trip. karen: there's proof of th
