the last time i spoke with karen chen was four years ago, on the plaza outside the olympic skating venueinished what she felt was a disappointing performance, ultimately finishing 11th, and vowed to come back and try again. >> i can't believe it was four years ago. actually kind of crazy. >> the karen of today, though, said that decision did not end up being so easy. she is now living and skating at the training center in colorado springs. she's determined to make the team once again, but it took a while to make that decision. she enrolled in school in new york, and she tried juggling skating and studying and found it hard to excel at both. knowing college could wait, and knowing her elite talent couldn't, she decided to move to colorado. >> i just find joy in working on jumps. i feel like i have grown since i moved out here. >> karen said time spent soul searching as well as living on her own in school and now in cal has helped her mature. she knows better than ever who she is and what she wants, and thanks to her experience four years ago, she knows what it takes to get there. we are j
