team usa still hoping to medal in that figure skating team competition, but after this fall by karen chen in the women's short program, and vincent zhou coming in third in the men's free skate, an event he was favored to win, the team dropping from first place to second. sitting three points behind the russian olympic committee. in more good news for team usa bobsledder elana meyers taylor is out of isolation and ready to compete. we caught up with her just after she found out. >> what did you think when you got the second negative test? >> i was overwhelmed. i cried when i got the news. i wasn't sure what was going to happen. i wasn't sure if i was going to confined to a quarantine hotel, the three-time olympian finally testing negative for covid twice. >> i'm excited to get out there, and get my body back together and get ready for these races. >> reporter: she can start training right away. she has to stay socially distanced from her teammates. she's still separated from her husband and alternate for men's bobsled and young son. both continue to test positive. >> i think the biggest th

and after that happened karen chen said, quote, the russian women are doing things i can only dream of that before anybody learned about valiyeva's positive drug test result. what do you think when you see valiyeva perform? >> again, i have nothing but admiration for the way they have pushed the boundaries of our sport. however, you know, there's always been this underlying factor, there's a reason that those athletes are not competing under their own flag. they're going there representing the roc, the russian olympic committee. and i think we're kind of at a point now all of us figure skaters are like we need a change in the system because we need to ensure all sports are on clean grounds because this is not the first time this has happened, but it is the first time that we're allowing a skater -- an athlete with, you know, kind of a red alert to compete. so the fact that this is happening is mind-blowing all of us. i mean richardson said what is the difference between my case and kamila's and it's because she's a protected person because she's a minor. however, the fact that the meda
