. >> karen hepp is in the newsroom gathering information about those kill.et's begin tonight with dave kinchen live near the scene. dave. >> reporter: ntsb just wrapped a press conference confirming what was original reported this amtrak 188 was going 106 miles per hour before this crash, that the engineer hit the brake but it was simply too late. let's go to some video that the ntsb actually released. this shows investigators on the scene, this is the closest up video we have in terms of great look at this crash site. the twisted metal. the crews looking at the tracks. looking at the train cars. looking at the braking systems. look at the signal indicators all of these thing. what they told us minutes ago was that the train was traveling 106 miles an hour and that there was a speed limit in this curve of 50 miles an hour. so clearly speed looking to be a factor here. this is a preliminary report that they gave us, but that's wait look like at this time. now the engineer as they say tried to hit the brake. we understand from philadelphia police sources that

i'm bill anderson and good morning karen hepp. thank you, thank you for so much for joining, us. there are so many events that are happening in our city today. we also have a lot of news that we're going to be talking about of course. we'll take a live look at our weather. it's absolutely gorgeous outside. we have the stokes bring regatta. last week dad veil was mostly college students, high school students this week. a lot of cloud cover out there. let's get over to dave warren. there's clouds out there and some rain. we can say two things about this rain. first off it will not be a wash off. second, the rain is coming down in an area that really does it need. it's fairly dry. we're taking a little bit of rain, that's what you're waking up to. the rain focused to the north of city, right around allentown. there's shower around blooms burg. this is slowly drifting to the east. maybe a few spring also as far south as montgomery county. that is where it is now. that's why it's picked up by the computer patch. the heavy patch up in the pocono mountains will try to push through. look
